Two sources close to the situation reported that the U.S. could announce its intention to ban Russian oil imports by Tuesday.
CNBC did not receive a response from the White House or Department of Energy to our requests for comment. However, the White House issued Tuesday’s update to President Joe Biden’s day-to-day schedule to add a statement from the U.S. aimed at “holding Russia accountable for their unprovoked war on Ukraine.”
These remarks will be delivered by Biden from the White House at 10.45 AM. ET. The updated schedule was posted.
This is important breaking news. Keep checking back for more updates.
