London Stock Exchange to suspend news distribution in Russia -Breaking

REUTERS/Peter Nicholls/LONDON, (Reuters) – London Stock Exchange LON: Group on Tuesday announced that it would suspend Russian supply of news- and comment products starting at 1200 GMT Wednesday.
Russian law allows journalists to be jailed for spreading fake news, as long as they are not guilty of inciting violence. Reporting any incident that might discredit Russia’s military is now illegal.
“LSEG today announced that it will suspend access to Russian products that include its news or commentary to comply with changes in Russian law,” LSEG stated in a notice sent to customers.
“This change will become effective from Wednesday, March 9th at 11:20 GMT.” They declined to give more details.
According to the exchange, it will also stop all sales of new products or services in Russia. However, data products will still be available for customers who are currently served.

BBC Britain reported that Russian reporting was temporarily suspended on Friday. However, it announced Tuesday night that the BBC would resume English language reporting about Russia’s evening.
Others news organizations have stopped working in Russia as well, such as the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) and Bloomberg News.
