WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – U.S. Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer stated Tuesday that he aimed at passing an omnibus spending bill for government by Wednesday. It will contain more than $12 billion of emergency assistance for Ukraine and $15 billion to cover COVID readiness.

“Republicans are extremely close to finalizing this agreement with Democrats,” Schumer said. Schumer said that he expected text to be released within a matter of hours.
