REUTERS/John SibleyLONDON (Reuters – The UK’s household finance measures were down 10 years ago due to a squeeze on living costs, according to YouGov and Cebr polling firms.
YouGov’s headline confidence index fell by more than 2 points, to 106.6. It was barely higher than its level last February when Britain was still suffering from coronavirus lockdowns.
According to YouGov’s head of reputation research, Darren Yaxley: “The cost-of-living crisis has a significant impact on consumer confidence.”
“However, other measures give more cause for optimism – with both homeowner scores increasing for the fourth month in a row and job security metrics improving following two months of decline.”
