WASHINGTON (Reuters] – A plane carrying Donald Trump, the former President of the United States made an emergency landing at New Orleans Saturday night after it suffered engine failure in the Gulf of Mexico. Sources familiar with the matter said that the incident was confirmed Wednesday by a third source.

According to the source, the Dassault Falcon 900 plane had traveled approximately 75 miles from New Orleans before returning to New Orleans. Others who were on board included Secret Service agents and support personnel, as well as some of Trump’s advisors.

Trump’s representative didn’t immediately respond to our request for comment.

Trump had just returned from speaking in New Orleans to Republican Party donors, and was on his way to Palm Beach.

According to sources, Trump advisors secured another plane from a donor to transport him to Florida.

Politico first reported the incident on Wednesday, and Washington Post also reported it.
