Sony, Nintendo halt gaming shipments to Russia -Breaking

REUTERS/Kim Kyung-Hoon(Reuters) – Sony (NYSE:] Group Corp’s Game Division and Nintendo Co Ltd (T) announced that they had suspended all shipments to Russia of hardware and software following the invasion by Ukraine.
Sony Interactive Entertainment made the PlayStation 5 console. It announced it suspended “Gran Turismo 7” racing game and operation of Russia’s PlayStation Store.
Sony Group made an announcement that they donated $2 million to the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Refugees and Save the Children in support of the victims.
Nintendo announced that it will suspend shipping to Russia all its products “for theforeseeable future… because of considerable volatility surrounding logistics for shipping and distributing physical items.”
According to the Kyoto-based company, it also delayed “Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp,” which was scheduled for launch on its Change (NYSE) console April 8th due to “recent international events”.
A military theme is a key feature of the series turn-based strategies.
Nintendo announced last week that it placed its eShop in Russia under maintenance after Russian payment providers suspended Russian rouble transactions.
