(Reuters] – Ryan Coogler of the “Black Panther,” was briefly held by Atlanta Police in January when he was mistakenly thought to be a bank robber. Atlanta Police released video footage on Wednesday.

Coogler (35), was arrested by police, but was released on Jan. 7, after he visited Bank of America (NYSE.) for a transaction. Variety reported that Coogler was freed from custody.

According to the bodycam footage, one officer said that it “sounded like somebody was trying bank robbery” from the moment they received the call.

According to reports, the director gave the bank teller an authorization slip that contained a note with the following message: “I want $12,000 cash taken from my checking account.” The money should be counted somewhere else. I’d like to be discreet,” the Variety report said.

Variety reports that the bank teller mistakenly interpreted the situation to be an attempt at robbery because the transaction value was more than $10,000. She informed her boss.

Bank of America didn’t immediately reply to our request for comment.

Black Panther was in 2018 the world’s second highest grossing movie. It was celebrated for its rich celebration of African culture.

Six Oscar nominations were made for the film, including one for best picture. Three Academy Awards were won for the film: in best original score, best costumes design, and best production design.
