LimeWire has returned! New NFT Marketplace to be Relaunched
  • LimeWire, an iconic platform dating back to the early 2000s is being relaunched in May as an NFT market.
  • It is not focusing solely on what made the company so famous but instead is embracing the emerging NFT industry.
  • Paul Zehetmayr purchased LimeWire and it has not been affiliated with the original company.

LimeWire will be relaunching in May as an NFT market. It was a peer-to-peer file sharing company. Rather than jump into the company’s previous business back in the 2000s, LimeWire is jumping into the growing NFT world.

This Wednesday’s announcement by the company outlined the company’s relaunch, as well as its intent to concentrate on the digital collectibles market. According to press releases, LimeWire will be focusing on music and entertainment content. An NFT with special rewards is also planned for later in the year.

LimeWire offers customers multiple payment options, making it simpler to buy NFTs. You can choose from cryptocurrencies or credit cards. Wyre is a partner of the company that facilitates payments.

LimeWire made the following statements in a news release

Fans and collectors can trade and purchase a range of music assets including limited editions, prerelease music, unreleased samples, graphic artwork, live versions and digital merchandise.

LimeWire’s board includes members from the management teams of H.E.R. Wu-Tang Clan. This means that the company can have a variety of artists from mainstream music on its roster.

LimeWire currently has a waiting list where anyone interested in May’s launch can sign up. It has a token system that will act akin to a “loyalty reward program” for token holders. Artists, as well as creators, can sign up for the waitlist in order to gain early access to LimeWire’s new marketplace.

Paul and Julian Zehetmayr bought the rights to LimeWire and are capitalizing on the brand’s early 2000s fame. LimeWire is independent from any previous company.
