Apple’s Tim Cook raises concern over LGBTQ laws in the U.S. -Breaking

(NASDAQ:) Chief executive Office Tim Cook voiced concern about Thursday’s LGBTQ laws in America, primarily the ones that focus on young people. This is what opponents call “don’t say gay” legislation.
Florida legislators recently approved a Republican-backed law that prohibits classroom discussions of gender identity and sexual orientation for young people.
In the midst of partisan discussions about what schools should teach students about gender and race, this legislation has sparked national debate.
Cook tweeted, “As an proud member of the LGBTQ+ Community, I am deeply concern about laws being passed across the country, especially those that focus on our vulnerable youth,”
Walt Disney (NYSE.) Co’s Bob Chapek was another chief executive who expressed his disgust at the LGBTQ legislation.
A Texas judge recently issued an order preventing the state’s investigation of the parents of a transgender 16-year old girl who provided her with gender-affirming treatment.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott claims that the treatment are child abuse and the state appealed against this judge’s decision.
Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:) Inc and Google are major U.S. technology companies Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:), Meta Platforms Inc. and Apple have joined more than 60 other companies who oppose equating gender-affirming treatments with child abuse. According to Axios, their names will appear in an ad to run in Texas Friday.
Meta, Microsoft, Apple, and Google did not respond immediately to our requests for comment.
