According to Price Waterhouse Coopers’ report, the North American Sports Outlook 2022, digital assets and nonfungible tokens (or NFTs) are among the top ten trends in the industry. This report details the three most important uses of NFTs as well as their potential impact on the future.
The first use case is collectible NFTs — assets used to sell collectible, authenticated and limited edition digital content. These are traditional memorabilia, such as tickets stubs from historic matches or trading cards for players. They can also be digitized and minted on the blockchain. According to the report, these collectibles might eventually be visible and shareable across metaverses.
