AppleNew $429 iPhone SE launches Friday.

This is a very good choice for anyone who doesn’t want all the extras you will pay for with the iPhone. I have been using it since the beginning of this week. iPhone 13You can get a better screen or better cameras.

iPhone SE costs $30 less than the similar model, which launched in 2020 and retails for $399. This model offers more options than its predecessor, such as faster 5G cellular speeds, stronger glass and the same high speed processor found in the iPhone 13 (starting at $699 for the Mini). It is possible that inflation or supply chain restrictions could be a factor. Apple could certainly have increased its appeal by making the prices a little lower, especially considering that people are feeling squeezed in every area of their life, right from the grocery shop to the gas pumps.

Apple’s iPhone SE isn’t as well-received as its other smartphones. Counterpoint Research estimates that the iPhone SE 2020 model accounted for 12 percent of iPhone sales between its launch and Q4 2021. It could be a viable option for international markets, such as China and Europe, which Apple does not yet own a 5G smartphone to match their budget Android smartphones.

Also, the 5G is very reliable. The 5G doesn’t work with some of the faster mmWave network speeds that Android and iPhone can. However, these networks aren’t readily available. It also supports the C-band network that Verizon is rolling out. AT&TAlso, T-MobileThe network is strong and nationwide. While 5G may not be a necessity for many people, it can make life easier if you want to watch some TV or download large files before you fly. T-Mobile’s home 5G network was able to reach speeds of 300Mbps in my test, which is faster than the Wi-Fi I have at my other locations. 

While the camera works well, you will not see any cost savings. Although it has the same lens that the 2020 model, the A15 chip’s image signal processor still produces slightly better images. Portrait photos, which blur the background nicely, are possible. However, it does not detect pets. Night mode is not available, so shots shot in darkness aren’t quite as crisp as those taken with Apple’s higher-end phones. However, it captured clear shots with good color balance and was able to capture the deep reds of some Tulips. It is perfect for taking selfies and has a nice tone and color balance.

It is not water resistant like Apple’s other iPhones. However, it can survive a dip in the tub or spill and still function without worry. This phone doesn’t feel cheap, unlike some Android phones that are often made of plastic and not glass or metal. 

It’s the same size as the iPhone SE from 2020It looked exactly the same as before. iPhone 8 from 2017. This phone does have a dated look. There are plenty of smartphones with better displays that extend to the top and bottom. 

While the screen may be adequate, it will not wow as brightly and quickly as those on Apple’s higher-end phones.

Although it can support wireless charging with a Qi charger pad, it is not compatible with Apple’s MagSafe Pucks. They magnetically attach at the back of your phone to allow for faster charging wirelessly. 

If you are looking to save and download more movies, apps and games, the 64GB storage model is probably OK for most.
