Tokyo closed with a gain of 3.46%.
These were the best performers of the session TOTO Ltd. (T:), rose 8.48% to 380.00 points and traded at 4,860.00 by the close. Japan Steel Works Ltd (T) gained 7.68%, or 260.00 points, to close at 3,645.00 Fanuc Corp. T: was up 7.1%, or 1,400.00 point to 21,080.00 in late trading.
These were the worst performers of the session. East Japan Railway Co. T: fell by 1.81%, or 126.00 point to trade at 6,854.00 close. Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. T: dropped 1.60%, or 35.00 points, to finish at 2,149.00 Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. T: was at 2,319.00, down 1.19% (or 28.00 points).
By 3048 to 556, rising stocks outnumbered those on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, while 176 ended unaffected.
The implied volatility index of Nikkei’s 225 options was lower by 5.02% than it was at 27.05.
Crude oil rose 2.94%, or 2.79, to $97.83 per barrel for April delivery. Brent oil, which was due for delivery in May, rose by 3.24 points to reach $101.26/barrel, and the April Gold Futures contract gained 1.37% (or 26.15) to trade at $1.935.35/troy ounce.
USD/JPY rose 0.4% to 118.76 and EUR/JPY rose 0.7% to 131.06.
