WASHINGTON (Reuters), – U.S. Secretary Antony Blinken announced Thursday that a U.S. Citizen was killed in Ukraine as a result of the ongoing Russian invasion.

I can confirm that an American citizen has been killed. In a briefing, Blinken stated that he did not have additional details.

Blinken confirmed the confirmation after Chernihiv, Ukraine’s police said that an American had been killed in a Russian bombardment.

Viacheslav Chaus was the governor of the region, which is centered around Chernihiv. He stated that 53 civilians were killed in Chernihiv over the last 24 hours. This number could not independently be verified. Russia denies targeting civilians.

Russia attacked Ukraine from all directions. Two columns sent by Russia to Kyiv were from the north and northeast. Then, two more arrived from the east at the second-largest city Kharkiv.
