Investing.com – Australia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The Sydney closing bell saw the loss of 0.2%.

EML Payments Ltd., (ASX:) rose 6.0% or 0.15 point to trade at 2.61 at close. Meanwhile, Westgold Resources Ltd (ASX 🙂 gained 4.99%, or 0.10 point to close at 2.00. AP Eagers Ltd. (ASX 🙂 was up 3.35% (or 0.42 points) to 12.94 in late trading.

Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Ltd. ASX: was among the worst-performing stocks of the session. It lost 4.93%, or 0.98 points, to end at 18.89. Magellan Financial Group Ltd. (ASX:) fell 4.32%, or 0.68 points to 15.06. Resolute Mining Ltd. (ASX) fell 4.41%, or 0.02 point to close at 0.32. Magellan Financial Group Ltd. (ASX) dropped 4.32%, or 0.68 points, to close at 15.06.

The Sydney Stock Exchange saw rising stocks surpass declining stocks by 713 to 700, and ended the day unchanged at 376.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 6.74% to 16.54.

The April delivery of Gold Futures was lower by 0.21%, or 4.00, to $1.925.30 per troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which rose by 4.09 percent to reach $107.18/barrel, and the May Brent Oil contract, which rose 3.555% to trade at $111.76/barrel.

AUD/USD was stable at 0.74 and AUD/JPY was down 0.25 to 88.14.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.4% to 98.27
