Meta asks Russian court to dismiss proceedings in ‘extremism’ case

(Reuters] – Meta Platforms Inc requested Monday that a Russian court dismiss proceedings in a case filed by Russian prosecutors. The state prosecutors demanded that the U.S. Tech giant be labeled “extremist organisation”, Russian media reported.

The TASS news media agency reported that Meta requested more time for its position preparation and questioned the court’s authority in imposing a ban.

Meta representatives did not respond immediately to our request for comment.
