REUTERS/Arnd WiegmannGENEVA, (Reuters) – Novartis, a Swiss pharmaceutical company, said Tuesday that it would suspend capital investments and media advertising in Russia, but that it will continue to provide access to its medicines there.
“Novartis condemns war in Ukraine,” the organization said. It also stated in a statement that while Russia is committed to providing medicine to Russia’s citizens, it has halted new clinical trials as well as the enrollment of study participants into existing ones.
Novartis’s move follows other drugmakers taking similar actions following sanctions on Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.
