Russia says it has moved over 50% of foreign aircraft to its own registry -Breaking

(Reuters) – The Russian government transferred over 50% of its foreign aircraft to Russia’s registry, as Russia takes steps to use foreign aircraft found in Russia. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated Wednesday.

Mishustin claimed that many foreign aircraft have been relocated to the Russian registry. She stressed that safety was the main goal.

Russia has been unable to supply most of its aircraft and parts due to sanctions. Russian airlines own 515 jets that have been leased abroad.

Russia passed legislation allowing foreign-loaned aircraft to be placed on Russia’s aviation register.
