Investing.com – Australia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX:), which rose 6.21% or 0.57 points to trade at 9.75 at the close. Atlas Arteria (ASX) gained 5.89%, or 0.39 point to close at 7.01. Ingenia Communities Group was also up 4.91%, or 0.32 points, to 6.84 late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX:), which fell 11.48% or 1.980 points to trade at 15.270 at the close. Iress Ltd. (ASX 🙂 dropped 10.72% or 1.45 point to finish at 12.08. Iluka Resources Ltd. was down 8.78% (0.910 points) to 9.450.
The Sydney Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpass advancing by 773 to 609, while 418 ended the day unchanged.
Fortescue Metals Group Ltd. (ASX:), shares fell 11.48%, or 1.980 to 15.270 to their 52 week lows. Ingenia Communities Group’s shares rose to five-year highs (ASX:), rising 4.91%, or 0.32 to 6.84.

The AUD/USD rose 0.3% to 0.7312 while the AUD/JPY rose 0.533% to 80.39.
