France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.74%

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the declined 1.74% to hit a new 1-month low, while the index fell 1.70%.

The best performers of the session on the were Safran SA (PA:), which rose 2.26% or 2.38 points to trade at 107.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Vinci SA (PA:) added 0.74% or 0.64 points to end at 86.80 and Thales (PA:) was up 0.67% or 0.54 points to 81.28 in late trade.

ArcelorMittal SA, (AS:) fell 8.3% or 2.18 to close at 25.02. Societe Generale SA (PA:) declined 5.70% or 1.49 points to end at 24.57 and Stellantis NV (PA:) was down 5.20% or 0.88 points to 16.07.

Air France KLM SA rose 5.46% at 4.09 and Aeroports de Paris SA was up 4.59% at 106.00. JC Decaux SA gained 4.21% at close at 21.78.

The worst performers were Vallourec (PA:) which was down 8.69% to 6.465 in late trade, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) which lost 8.03% to settle at 25.02 and Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:) which was down 7.07% to 167.00 at the close.

On the Paris Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those in progress by 518 to 1,131 and 49.

For December delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.65% to $1762.75/ton ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell by 1.88%, or 1.35, to reach $70.47/barrel, and November Brent oil contracts fell 1.57%, or 1.18, to trade at $74.16/barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.03 to 1.1729 and EUR/GBP rose 0.66 to 0.8589.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.7% to 93.240.
