Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the added 0.95%, while the index gained 0.88%.

The best performers of the session on the were JSW Steel Ltd (NS:), which rose 5.65% or 35.75 points to trade at 668.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:) added 5.21% or 6.70 points to end at 135.20 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:) was up 4.99% or 371.40 points to 7813.85 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:), which fell 2.49% or 173.40 points to trade at 6777.00 at the close. Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:) declined 1.57% or 6.60 points to end at 413.80 and Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS:) was down 1.35% or 39.05 points to 2850.45.

Bajaj Finance Ltd. (BO) rose 4.94% at 7810.60 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. was up 4.29% at 1137.25. ITC Ltd. (BO) gained 3.36% at close at 241.45.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(BO:), which fell 2.54% to 6777.85 late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO) was up 4.29% to settle at 1137.25 and ITC Ltd. (BO) was down 3.6% to close at 241.45.

The India National Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpassing advancing by 873-831. 57 finished unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange however, 1549 were down and 1511 went up, while 157 closed unchanged.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (NS:), shares rose by 5.21%, or 6.70 to 13.5.20. Bajaj Finance Ltd. (NS) shares reached all-time highs with an increase of 4.99%, or 371.40 to 7813.85 Bajaj Finance Ltd. shares (BO) reached all-time highs with an increase of 4.94%, or 367.70 to 880.60. IndusInd bank Ltd.’s shares rose by 4.29%, or 46.75 to 137.25. The shares of ITC Ltd. (BO:), rose to 52 week highs, rising by 3.36% (7.85 to 241.45).

For December delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.21% to $1767.55 an ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which rose 0.81 or 1.15% to reach $70.95/barrel, and November Brent oil, which rose 0.74 or 1.00% to settle at $74.66/barrel.

USD/INR was at 73.652 with a 0.01% increase, and EUR/INR at 86.4390 with a 0.10% rise.

US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.13% to 93.132.
