Facebook Chief Technology Officer Mike Schroepfer on Wednesday announced he will be stepping down from his role.

Schroepfer will move to another part of the company and will be succeeded by Andrew Bosworth in 2022. Bosworth is the current head of Facebook’s hardware division.

Schroepfer posted on Facebook that “this is a hard decision due to how much I love Facebook, and how excited about the future I am building together.” This change will enable me to spend more time with my family, my personal philanthropic endeavors and to continue to work closely with the company on key initiatives such as recruiting and developing technical talent.

This is not breaking news. Keep checking back for more updates.
