China will buy 8,700 new airplanes over next 20 years

BEIJING (Reuters) – Chinese airlines are likely to buy 8,700 planes worth $1.47 trillion over the next 20 years, Boeing (NYSE:) Co said on Thursday.

For the time period 2040, Boeing’s most recent estimate is 1.2% lower than last year’s prediction of 8,600 aircraft.

Boeing stated that China will require nearly $1.8 trillion of commercial services in order to maintain its plane fleet.
