(Reuters) – Delta Air Lines (NYSE:) said on Thursday its employee vaccination rate against COVID-19 had risen to 82%, weeks after announcing a monthly health insurance surcharge for unvaccinated workers.

Last month, the U.S. airline announced that employees would have to pay $200 each month more for company-sponsored healthcare plans if they do not choose to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Delta stated that it was able to vacate nearly 70% its workforce by June due to financial incentives like $100 in healthcare rewards and additional time off.

United Airlines announced Wednesday that more than 97% U.S. employees were vaccinated before the Sept. 27 deadline.
