Ford India head quits after company decides to stop making cars in India

NEW DELHI (Reuters) – Ford Motor (NYSE:) Co’s India head Anurag Mehrotra has resigned, two sources told Reuters, days after the U.S. automaker said it would stop making cars in the country, taking a hit of $2 billion.

Mehrotra is leaving the company at the end of September, according to one person.

Ford India spokesperson confirmed Mehrotra’s resignation and said he was leaving the company to explore other career options.

Mehrotra has not yet responded to my request for comment.
