Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the added 0.17% to hit a new all time high, while the index gained 0.27%.

The best performers of the session on the were Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:), which rose 3.85% or 127.95 points to trade at 3448.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS:) added 2.77% or 21.00 points to end at 779.45 and Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:) was up 2.59% or 73.95 points to 2931.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Tata Steel Ltd (NS:), which fell 3.53% or 46.60 points to trade at 1272.10 at the close. JSW Steel Ltd (NS:) declined 2.67% or 18.10 points to end at 659.15 and State Bank Of India (NS:) was down 2.01% or 9.05 points to 440.75.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which rose 3.72% to 3443.60, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which was up 2.74% to settle at 779.20 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which gained 2.24% to close at 1357.65.

Tata Steel Ltd.(BO:), which fell 3.60%, 1271.90 in the late trade, State Bank Of India Ltd. (BO :), which lost 2.00% to close at 440.80, and AXIS Bank Ltd.. (BO :), which dropped 1.74% to 798.20.

By 1101 to 6007, falling stocks outnumbered those in progress on the India National Stock Exchange. 58 finished unchanged, and AXIS Bank Limited (BO:), which lost 2.00% to settle at 440.80.

Asian Paints Ltd.’s shares rose 3.85%, or 127.95 to 344.60. Asian Paints Ltd. shares (BO:), rose to all-time highs with a gain of 3.72%, or 123.50 up to 3443.60. HCL Technologies Ltd. (BO) shares rose to new highs, up 2.4% or 29.70 – 1357.65.

The implied volatility index of the Nifty 50 options was up by 1.93% to 16.9225.

For December delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.33% to $5755.65 per troy-ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, unchanged at 0.00% for November delivery, to reach $73.30/barrel, and November Brent oil contract, which rose 0.13 or 0.17% respectively to trade at $77.38/barrel.

USD/INR declined 0.03% at 73.777 while EUR/INR dropped 0.08% at 86.5445.

US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.16% to 93.177.
