UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited the United Nations in New York on Saturday to meet with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres during the 193-member world body’s annual gathering of leaders.

The Duke and Duchess are in New York for Global Citizen Live, which takes place in Central Park. It aims at pushing for more action against climate change as well as urging rich countries to donate one million doses COVID-19 to nations in greatest need.

The 37-year old prince and Meghan (40) visited the memorial to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, and New York Governor Kathy Hochul were there to accompany them.

To build a new life, the couple left royal duties in order to move from Britain to California. They now reside with Lilibet and Archie, both two years old, born in June.

Their Archewell Foundation was launched and they have made many lucrative deals for TV productions and podcasts. They were featured in Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People Worldwide issue last week.

Over the last week, world leaders returned to United Nations with an emphasis on increasing efforts to combat climate change and COVID-19. In the midst of the pandemic, leaders instead sent videos to the U.N. General Assembly’s annual high-level meeting.

Guterres also had a meeting with Queen Maxima, the Netherlands, on Thursday. Guterres’s Special Representative for Inclusionary Finance for Development.
