(ETH) developer Virgil Griffith has pleaded guilty to a federal charge that he conspired with North Korea to violate United States sanctions law.
Griffith, who was charged with conspiring against the International Emergency Economic Powers Act that prohibits U.S citizens from exporting intellectual property and technology to communist nations, pleaded guilty Monday in New York. Griffith may spend up to six-and a-half years prison as part of the plea bargain. In January 2022, formal sentencing will begin.
