Macron egged by protester shouting ‘Vive la revolution’ By Reuters

PARIS (Reuters) – French President Emmanuel Macron was hit with an egg while he was visiting Lyon on Monday to promote French gastronomy.

Lyon Mag video footage shows the egg hitting Macron on the shoulder as he walks through crowds while another protester shouts “Vive La Revolution” (long live this revolution).

French media reported that a man was taken into custody following the incident at an international hotel, food and catering trade fair.

Macron’s spokeswoman didn’t respond to our request for comment.

A man punched Macron on the head during a June walkabout in south France. He was sentenced to four months in prison.
