Morgan Stanley Asia veteran Christianson retires

HONG KONG (Reuters) – Morgan Stanley (NYSE:)’s Asia Pacific co-chief executive Wei Sun Christianson will retire from the bank after nearly two decades at the end of 2021, according to a memo reviewed by Reuters.

The note stated that Christianson would remain an advisor director at Morgan Stanley, providing advice to the bank’s clients and the client on China.

Gokul Laroia will be the Asia Pacific CEO, which does not include Japan. She was the co-CEO for the region since 2014. Laroia is a Morgan Stanley employee since 1995. He also serves as the co-head global equities.

He has held senior roles at Morgan Stanley across investment banking coverage, M&A, capital markets and sales and trading.
