MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a new criminal case against jailed Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny and his allies, the committee said in a statement on Tuesday.

It stated that it was looking into Navalny’s possible creation of an “extremist group” along with other associates. Russian authorities have declared Navalny an extremist, and the Russian Court has also placed him in prison for parole violations.
