(Reuters) – A top Senate Democrat on Tuesday said she would vote against a reappointment of Jerome Powell as chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve, calling him a “dangerous man” to lead the central bank.

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has been a vocal critic of Wall Street oversight and a member on the panel that reviews nominations to the Federal Reserve board’s boards, stated that Powell being appointed to another term is not a risk worth taking.

While the White House still hasn’t made a decision whether Powell would be reappointed, her term expires in February.
