FRANKFURT (Reuters) – The German state of Brandenburg said on Wednesday no decision has been taken on Tesla (NASDAQ:)’s request to build a factory near Berlin, following a media report that regulators had agreed on the terms of a conditional approval.
According to Business Insider, Brandenburg sources claimed that environmental officials had given the green light for Tesla’s electric car production. This was contingent upon water usage and prevention of toxic substance accidents.
Responding to questions, the environment ministry of the state said that the process was still under review.
A spokesperson from the ministry stated that at the moment, it was impossible to draw any conclusions about the decision’s timing or its content.
