SHANGHAI (Reuters) – China’s finance ministry on Thursday published draft rules on the accounting of asset management products.

China has been asking asset managers to release products that are based on the net asset value (NAV), and which promptly reflect market changes as part of its efforts to combat shadow banking.

In a statement posted on the Ministry of Finance’s website, it stated that the draft rules are designed to reduce financial risks and increase the accuracy of accounting information related to China’s asset-management products.
