(Reuters) – Rappers Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg, along with R&B singer Mary J. Blige will play the halftime show at next year’s Super Bowl in southern California, the National Football League (NFL) announced on Thursday.
Dr. Dre released a statement saying that Dre would love the chance to perform in the Super Bowl halftime shows, as well as performing in the comfort of his own home, was one of his greatest thrills.
Inglewood in Los Angeles will play host to the match on February 13, 2013. Dre and Lamar are both natives to the region.
They have won a total 43 Grammys as well as 19 No. 1 Billboard albums.
Jay-Z (rapper whose Roc Nation organization helps put together the show) stated in a statement that the performance of the five will be “history in making.”
Super Bowl has the highest viewing audience each year, with approximately 100 million people tuning in and some of the top musicians around the globe.
The Weeknd, from Canada, was this year’s performer, in spite of the pandemic coronavirus. Shakira and Jennifer Lopez shared the stage in 2020.
