Goldman Sachs appoints Tai as Southeast Asia investment banking head

HONG KONG (Reuters) – Goldman Sachs (NYSE:) has appointed Andy Tai as head of investment banking in Southeast Asia, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters.

The memo stated that Tai, who will still be working as an American bank technology, media and telecom banking banker, will now relocate from Hong Kong to Singapore in order to assume the new role.

Todd Leland (co-heads of Asia investment banking, Japan excluding) sent it to the staff on Thursday.

The contents of this memo were confirmed by Goldman Sachs spokesperson.

Tai replaces Harry Naysmith who was hired by Citigroup (NYSE:) as the vice chairman of its Southeast Asian banking and capital markets advisory business.

Tai began his Goldman Sachs career in New York as an analyst. He became the managing director of Goldman Sachs in 2019.
