Toyota, Mazda’s U.S. joint venture to hire 1,700 additional employees By Reuters

(Reuters) – Toyota Motor (NYSE:) Corp and Mazda Motor (OTC:) Corp’s joint venture factory in the United States will hire 1,700 additional employees as it ramps up production, the companies said on Thursday.

Mazda Toyota Manufacturing has begun production on the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross. Next year will see the start of production on the Mazda Vehicle.

In the future, 150,000 Mazda crossovers and 150,000 Toyota utility vehicles will be produced annually by the joint venture.

Toyota and Mazda increased their JV investment by $830 million last year to $2.3billion.
