Canada’s Spavor says he is ‘overjoyed’ to reunite with family after China release By Reuters

(Reuters) – Canadian citizen Michael Spavor stated on Friday that he is overjoyed to have been reunited with family members after being released last week from China’s prison.

“I am overjoyed to finally be reunited with family. “It’s quite humbling to realize the support we have received from Canadians as well as others around the globe, it’s amazing,” Spavor stated in his first statement after being released.

Canadians Michael Kovrig (Canada) and Michael Spavor (China) were detained last week, just days after Meng Wanzhou, Huawei Technologies Co Ltd Chief Financial Office was arrested in Vancouver in December 2018.
