Ozy Media shuts down after days of scandal, reports of lies and misconduct

Ozy Media announced Friday that it was closing down. The New York Times
The board of Ozy said that the company was blessed with “a remarkable team dedicated staff”. “Many are professional journalists of the highest calibre and are great colleagues. We must therefore announce that Ozy is closing its doors today with deepest regret.
Following a week’s worth of reports on the misconduct and lies within the company, this news is now.
The New York Times reported that an Ozy executive, later identified as COO Samir Raho, impersonated YouTube executives on a conference call hosted by Goldman Sachs. The company was looking at a $40 million investment. According to media firms, this metric is used to lure advertisers and was also vastly exaggerated by the company.
