Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh tested positive for coronavirus. Court announced Friday three days before its next term is set to begin
The court stated that Kavanaugh (56 years old) is not showing any symptoms. Since January, he has had his entire vaccination against Covid.
Below is the full court statement
Justice Kavanaugh took a Covid test on Thursday in accordance with Court protocols. Justice Barrett was to be installed Friday. Justice Kavanaugh learned on Thursday that he tested positive for Covid-19. The symptoms are not present and he has been fully immunized since January. According to Court testing protocol, Justice Kavanaugh and his wife were all tested on Monday before conference. Justice Kavanaugh’s daughter and her wife have been fully vaccinated. They tested negative Thursday. Justice Kavanaugh and Mrs. Kavanaugh are not expected to attend Justice Barrett’s investiture today as a precaution.
