MOSCOW (Reuters). – Russia’s Sputnik V and COVID-19 vaccine registrations have been completed. Only paperwork is left to finish, Mikhail Murashko (Russian Health Minister) said Saturday.
Sputnik V is a popular Russian shot that has been licensed for use in 70+ countries. It currently underwent a WHO/EMA review. The shot could be available in new markets, particularly Europe, if they are approved.
Murashko met Tedros Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General in Geneva.
Interfax reported Murashko saying that Russia’s view on the promotion and registration Sputnik V was heard.
According to him, the company that is handling Sputnik V registration at WHO “only has to sign a few papers and submit a few more papers”.
Unfortunately, the WHO was not immediately available for comment.
In July, the WHO stated that it had discovered some problems with how Russia produced the Sputnik V vaccination. Manufacturer said that it now addresses all concerns raised by the WHO.
