French Catholic Church had estimated 3,000 paedophiles since 1950s

PARIS (Reuters), – Over the last 70 years, France’s Catholic Church had around 3,000 paedophiles. This was according to the head of an investigation commission into the sex abuse scandal.

Jean-Marc Sauve from the Commission told Journal du Dimanche, “We have estimated that the number of priests is at least 3,000.”

Sauve’s comments were not addressed by a spokesperson from the French Catholic Bishops Conference. On Tuesday, the commission will publish its conclusions.

In the last twenty years, many children involved in sexual abuse have led to scandals within the Roman Catholic Church.
