WASHINGTON (Reuters] – On Monday afternoon, President Joe Biden plans to hold a virtual conference with the House of Representatives’ left-leaning progressive members to discuss a bill on social spending. The White House stated that he will make it clear that the bill will be much smaller than they expected.

Jen Psaki, spokesperson for the White House said that Biden will discuss a path forward. This includes acknowledging the fact that this package may be smaller than initially proposed.

She stated that he would like to learn from the people what are their top priorities and bottom lines so they could play constructive roles in moving things forward.

Biden originally proposed $3.5 trillion in social spending bills, but moderate Democrats withhold support due to the high price.
