LOS ANGELES (Reuters – Britney sings thanked fans who helped her end the conservatorship.

Spears (39) made the remarks on Twitter following a court order last week suspending her father as controller of her business affairs. A November date was set to determine whether the legal arrangement, which has been in place for 13 years, should be terminated entirely.

I have no words to express my gratitude for you and your perseverance in releasing me from conservatorship. My life now moves in this direction !!!!! My life is now in that direction. I was so emotional last night, my fans are the greatest and I am proud of them,” the singer wrote.

She added, “I feel your heart and you feel my…that much I know to be true.”

Spears, who has not performed since late 2018, was on vacation in French Polynesia when Los Angeles judge Brenda Penny last week removed her father Jamie Spears https://www.reuters.com/legal/litigation/britney-spears-case-back-court-with-dads-role-line-2021-09-29 as conservator of her $60 million estate in a major victory for the “Toxic” singer.

Spears had a severe mental breakdown in 2008. The conservatorship took control of all her financial and private affairs.

A small number of supporters started the #FreeBritney campaign on social media in 2019. They have held loud demonstrations at court hearings and were highlighted in “Framing Britney Spears,” a documentary that was released in February.

Spears intensified her attempts to get out of conservatorship. In June, she told the judge that it was humiliatingly abusive and that she would like her life back.

Penny is holding a hearing on Nov. 12, to hear all sides. Penny appears to support the end of the conservatorship.
