BERLIN, (Reuters) – Investor mood in the euro area fell for the third straight month in October. The drop was due to a decline in economic expectations. A survey on Monday showed that this trend continued.

Sentix’s eurozone index fell from 19.6 to 16.9 in September. A Reuters poll indicated that the reading for October was 18.6.

Current conditions index dropped to 26.3, from 30.8. A expectations index decreased to 8.0 from 9.0. It dropped for five consecutive months to its lowest level since May 2020.

Sentix’s Managing Director Patrick Hussy stated that “the economic recovery process continues its slowdown.” The continued loss of momentum does not indicate any fall revival.

Sentix interviewed 1,067 investors between Sept. 30 and Oct. 2.
