Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The NSE closed with an increase of 0.74% and the index gaining 0.75%.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd., which gained 10.87% (or 16.05 points) to trade at 163.65 by the closing of trading on the day, were the top performers. In the meantime, IndusInd Bank Ltd. Coal India In late trade, Ltd (NSS:) was up by 4.21% (8.00 points) to 197.95

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., which fell 1.36% at 820.35 in the late trade, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (BO) lost 0.91% at 189.80, and ITC Ltd. (BO) was at its worst at 234.75 by close.

On the India National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered those in decline by 1074, 637, and 57 ending unchanged. The Bombay Stock Exchange saw 1959 rise and 1153 fall, and then 155 ended unchanged.

IndusInd bank Ltd. (BO) shares rose 52 weeks to their highest point; up 4.21% or 8.00 to 197.95. Reliance Industries Ltd. (BO:), shares rose to new highs, rising 2.08% (53.25% to 2609.10.
