Target offers employees extra $2 an hour for peak days of holiday season

TargetOn Tuesday, the company announced that they will pay $2 more an hour to workers who take up shifts in peak periods of holiday season.
Extra pay for store and service center workers who work weekends and Sundays, from Nov. 20 through Dec. 19, and on Christmas Eve or the day following Christmas. Target stated that some employees at the headquarters are also eligible. the announcement on its website
Supply chain workers can receive additional pay during peak periods of two weeks between October 10 and December 18. This is crucial for packing boxes and moving products to shelves. It will vary depending on the location of employees.
Target minimum wage is $15 an hourThe company. As many retailers face difficulty filling jobs, and are focused on keeping employees happy, the company sweetens the deal by offering holiday workers a higher salary. Korn Ferry is a talent consultancy firm that polled 176 U.S. retail stores in September to determine if they were experiencing difficulty hiring. Only 2% of respondents said it was not an issue.
Target announced last month it will scale back on seasonal hiringInstead, it will give additional hours to the approximately 300,000. current employees. An app was also developed that allows employees to request additional work hours on-demand, which is ideal for those who have children or are looking for flexibility in their schedules.
