Watch Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen’s Senate testimony

FacebookFrances Haugen (whistleblower) will give evidence before the Senate Subcommittee Tuesday.

Journal’s recent investigations revealed that company executives knew about the detrimental effects Instagram had on young users. These included an increase in suicidal thoughts. According to the Journal’s first report, 6% of American Instagram users had the desire to die.

Haugen came out of hiding on Sunday in preparation for an interview that she did with Haugen, which aired live on 60 Minutes.

Last week, Facebook’s global head of safety  Antigone Davis testified before members of the Senate, where lawmakers concluded that Instagram should not create an app for children.

The hearing will begin at 10:10 a.m. ET.
