Evolved Apes NFT Escapes Developed by $2.7 million

According to Evolved Apes, NFT developer, 798 Ether (ETH), worth approximately $2.7 Million from the project has been reported missing.

The report revealed that the stolen money included the money from the initial minting and the ETH trade in secondary sales of non-fungible tokens on OpenSea’s NFT marketplace.

Evolved Apes, for example, was one the NFT mints that came out of recent years. Digital collectible: A collection of over 10,000 NFTs. However, the project’s price dropped to 0.005 ETH on OpenSea, lower than the original minting cost. Some also linked the price decline to the ongoing rug pulling scandal that has rocked the project.

What’s more, the allegedly accused who goes by the pseudonym of Evil Ape also took down the “Evolved Apes’” website and Twitter account.

As per reports, Evil Ape and the project’s creators have promised to drop a blockchain fighting game — a common promise among many avatar-style NFT developers.

Even with what happened, the Evolved Apes NFT community has come together to continue the development of the project under the name of “Fight Back Apes.”

The firm also stresses the fact that the company aims to make the project more community-centric. The multisig wallet prevents another Evil Ape tragedy.
