BRUSSELS, (Reuters) – EU antitrust regulators will accuse Apple (NASDAQ) of anti-competitive conduct related to its NFC chips technology. According to people familiar with the matter, this could make it more difficult for Apple to offer mobile payments to other companies.

In June 2013, the European Commission began an investigation into Apple Pay. This is Apple’s proprietary mobile payment system on iPads and iPhones.

Sources said that the EU Competition Enforcementr is currently drafting a statement of objections describing its concerns. This is to be submitted to Apple in next year.
