PARIS (Reuters), – Bruno Le Maire, French Finance Minister, said he hoped that talks on Friday about global corporate taxes would result in a conclusion. He also stated that everyone involved needed to reach a compromise.

Le Maire spoke at Wednesday’s OECD.

Sources familiar with the negotiations told Reuters that an updated version of a corporate tax overhaul proposal has been dropped from a minimum rate of 15%. This could be a significant hurdle to clear for Ireland in final stages of negotiation.

A total of 140 countries are expected to agree on the final major reform of the tax system for multi-nationals. The deal will be approved by the Group of 20 Economic Powers later in this month.
